Onboard a new client (end to end)

The full checklist from first audit to autopilot, do these in order and the client is live.

This is the whole flow for bringing a client's site onto the platform. Work top to bottom, each step unlocks the next. You can do the first two without any access from the client; the rest needs the credentials in “Credentials you'll need.”

1. Audit the site

  1. 1From your dashboard, click “Audit a new site” and enter the client's domain.
  2. 2The crawl grades up to ~40 pages on 10 technical SEO + AI-readability factors (~2 min).
  3. 3A new project appears in your dashboard with the findings.

2. Set the plan

New projects start on trial. Set the tier once you've agreed terms, trial (evaluation), active (paying), or agency (full automation + all tools). You can change or pause it anytime from the Super Admin console or the project's ⋯ menu.

3. Connect their data (Search Console)

  1. 1Open the project → Search Console → Sign in with Google.
  2. 2The client grants read-only access to their GSC property.
  3. 3You now see real clicks, impressions, positions and quick wins, not estimates.

No access to the client's Google account? Have them add you as a user in Search Console, or screen-share the one-time sign-in. Access is read-only and revocable.

4. Connect WordPress (optional but recommended)

Connecting the CMS lets image alt-text fixes write straight to the Media Library. Create an Application Password (not the login password), see “Create a WordPress Application Password.” On Hostinger/LiteSpeed hosts, also follow the auth-header fix.

5. Install the snippet

Paste the one-line script (Settings → Install snippet) before </head>, or on WordPress use the Nexus helper that auto-injects it. This is how approved link/title/meta fixes reach the live pages. See “Install the snippet.”

6. Review & approve fixes

  1. 1Open Technical SEO & GEO. Each fix is a before/after diff.
  2. 2Approve the ones you want, nothing goes live until you approve AND the snippet is installed.
  3. 3Use “Approve all shown” per type to move fast, or approve page by page.

7. Turn on autopilot

On the Agency plan, enable AEO Autopilot so the read → build → track → improve loop runs on a schedule. Findings also re-crawl nightly on their own, so the audit never goes stale.

A clean first-run order: audit → set plan → connect Search Console → connect WordPress → install snippet → approve fixes → autopilot. Then share a Report Card from Reports as the client's first deliverable.

Common questions

What's the minimum to get value?

Just the audit (step 1), it grades the site and generates fixes with no client access. Everything after that (data, CMS, snippet) makes the fixes go live and the numbers real.

Can I onboard without the client's logins?

Yes for the audit and fix generation. To apply fixes on their live site you need either the snippet installed (a developer or CMS admin does this once) or a WordPress Application Password.
